I met the new DLP class yesterday, and we read the classic Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina. Each student had a cap to hold, put on their head, and then throw to the ground when it was time. Then we glued hats onto tree outlines. Finally, we watched this video (and several kids enjoyed yelling, "Give me back my caps!!!!"):
