- recommending books to each other AND to me (sometimes I have never heard of a book and then I add it to my wishlist for the library
- following a rubric
- summarizing a plot
- speaking in front of a group
Your book talk shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes, and you should practice it beforehand to make sure you don't leave anything out.
You can sign up to give your book talk on any day your class is scheduled for checkout. (See our circulation calendar here.) One student per class can talk about a specific series, so you may want to book your talk now even if you don't give it for a while.
If you REALLY don't want to get up in front of the class, you can write out your book talk and give it to me, but you will get a 1 on presentation on the rubric.
Here is the list of books that kids shared last year, in case you are interested. I have a feeling this year's list will be very similar!
